2010 BELGIAN GP: HAMILTON KING OF THE WET RACES

KING OF THE WET RACES

Lewis Hamilton is the winner of Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. Once again he proved that on the rain nobody can beat him. He capitalised from the very poor start of Mark Weber, take the lead into the first corner and managed to maintain it until the finish of the race. Also with this victory Hamilton takes the lead in the overall ranking of drivers.

Most likely a double victory for McLaren ruins Sebastian Vettel, who lost control of his car and had a direct crash with the Baton`s car, and British had to withdraw from the race.
This accident was used by Mark Webber plus bad pit stop of Kubica to take second place. After his poor start at the end Australian can be very satisfied with his position.

Another bad tactical race for Ferrari, who i think lost all chances of any of the two titles. I do not believe in what they show us. Robert Kubica with excelent 3-rd place for Renault. Ahead of last 6 races battle for world champion will be between Luis and Mark. My favorite is Mark Webber. He, Red Bull team and Australia deserves the Title World Champion.

2010 BELGIAN GP: WEBBER TAKES ANOTHER POLE POSITION

Fastest drivers today on Spa circuit

Mark Webber will start on pole position for the Belgian Grand Prix after a weather affected qualifying session at Spa threw up a few surprises. With this Pole i think he is the only one who deserves this year's F1 World Champion title. The Australian clocked a 1:45.778 with his first effort in Q3 to take his fifth pole of the season as Lewis Hamilton nailed his final lap to line up on the front row next to the Red Bull.

2010 BELGIAN GP: ALONSO FASTEST ON RAIN AND DRY SPA

SECOND FREE PRACTICE

Fernando Alonso fastest and on dry Spa circuit

Fernando Alonso made the most of a dry Spa Francorchamps circuit to set the fastest time of the second session of free practice, the Ferrari driver clocking a 1:49.032 to finish ahead of Adrian Sutil and Lewis Hamilton on his very last lap. With only little rain falling at the start of the session, the conditions were considerably better than in the morning so some teams, including Ferrari, went out with intermediates.

With his tyres up to optimum temperature, Alonso bettered his time from the first session to become the first driver to break below the two minute barrier. Lewis Hamilton followed Alonso's lead shortly afterwards, going quickest with a 1:59.397 just as Timo Glock and Antonio Liuzzi became the first drivers to slither off the circuit, proving conditions were still treacherous. With the track drying rapidly in the Belgian sunshine, so the lap times tumbled accordingly. Robert Kubica making the most of Renault's new F-duct to top the timesheets from Mark Webber, Felipe Massa and Michael Schumacher on the half hour mark.

FIRST FREE PRACTICE

Alonso fastest on rainy Spa

The rain that fell today morning in Spa made imposible teams to make many laps and test upgrades to their cars. The best on wet was Fernando Alonso and despite the water on the track managed to improve his time. Closest to him, but with seven tenth behind was Lewis Hamilton who drove only seven laps. Robert Kubica with the new F-duct of his Renault was third on this morning practice. As always on rain times does not show the real potential of cars and drivers. Despite bad weather, none of the drivers did not damage to car, although few had expected derailed off the track, especially for Schumacher, Heikki Kovalainen and Massa.

2010 BELGIAN GP: VIRTUAL CIRCUIT GUIDE

Bernie wants US driver in Formula 1

Bernie Wants Danica Patrick in F1

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone and event promoter Tavo Hellmund are sure that the addition of an American driver on the grid would also be a good thing for the sport, ahead of 2012 US Grand Prix at Austin, Texas. F1 has been without an American driver since Scott Speed left the Toro Rosso team in 2007.

"Regarding an American driver, we have tried that lately but obviously what's missing is the right attitude. You can race successfully in the US without the huge effort you need to succeed in Formula One. But to have someone like Danica Patrick in F1 would be a perfect advert," Ecclestone told the official F1 website.

"Of course it would be fantastic to have an American driver, but there is that young Mexican driver Perez who is doing a great job in GP2 right now. For him the 2012 US Grand Prix could be a sort of home race: the distance from Austin to Mexico is a mere 250 kilometres," Hellmund added.
