Is this the next Acura NSX?

Is Stark ditching his old Audi R8 for the next NSX? Next summer, when the new Avengers blockbuster comes out, Tony Stark of Stark industries will be rolling in an all new, never seen before, mysterious Acura sports car. As part of the contract between the movie’s marketing executives and Acura, S.H.I.E.L.D. must make use of all the Acura cars available in their line-up.

This would only reduce our doubts about this concept actually being the NSX, or Acura’s next super car. Teasing us through one of the most anticipated Marvel movie for one of the most anticipated super car since the GT-R…Good job Honda

Acura introduces the 2013 Acura NSX Concept at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show

“Ever since the old model ended its 15 year life in 2005, Acura’s been threatening then denying a replacement. It’s been the longest automotive tease in history but now finally it’s here — this “concept” really is the new NSX.”

**The original NSX was/is my dream car. There was a time that I would have chosen this car over anything… then I saw the Fast and the Furious RX-7… and all of those cars look dated now, but this isht right here… this is just on a whole ‘nutha level. Acura in their press release states how many horses this car will be or how much it will cost, but there is a great presentation of it at the 2012 Detroit Auto show… Dunno if its still at the top of my list, but its still a sick sick car

New new acura nsx

Acura NSX, or a Honda NSX in North America and Hong Kong, is a sports car produced between 1990 and 2005 by the Japanese automaker Honda. This car has the engine in the middle, rear-wheel drive layout and is supported by an aluminum V6 gasoline engine featuring the "variable valve timing and lift electronic control" (VTEC) system. Honda NSX type most recently worth about $ 160,000

2010 Acura NSX Finally Revealed?

  • 2010 Acura NSX - Auto Express

It appears that Auto Express may have beaten every Western auto news outlet to the punch by publishing these two photos of what they say is the all-new Acura NSX.

We noticed similar images popping up in the pages of Japanese car magazine Holiday Auto (which you can see over at 7Tune), but we'd dismissed those as just being speculative renderings commissioned by that publication. However, Auto Express' use of those images has now thrown that theory into doubt and it now seems likely that these pictures are instead official Honda press photos of the real deal.

So, what do we make of it? For starters, it looks like Honda got the styling of the rear end spot-on, with the combination of that full-width light cluster and those rectangular quad tailpipes imparting a very futuristic look to the NSX's tail. It's a different story on the front though, with the NSX sporting a rather narrow-eyed appearance thanks to those oddly shaped headlights. The thin slashes in the NSX's grille also look a tad out of place and appear to be a concession to engine cooling rather than a harmonious design element.

2010 Acura NSX - Auto Express

Don't get me wrong though, for there's still plenty of things I like about the NSX's new clothes. For instance, I totally dig those L-shaped running lights embedded in the front bumper, that sharply-creased rear wheelarch turns me on and I particularly fancy those 7-spoked wheels, but the 'face' of the new NSX just leaves me cold. It's far from ugly mind you, but remember that this is meant to be Honda's first true supercar and one that's intended to compete on every level with the best Europe has to offer. From what we can see here, it seems the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini have little to worry about on the aesthetic front.

While it appears almost certain that these pics represent the final design of the NSX, we're still going to take them with a grain of salt. There are a few discrepancies between this car and recent images of an NSX test mule that suggest we've yet to see the showroom-ready finished product, but for the most part it appears that Auto Express may be on the money with this one.

Do you think Honda's got it right with this design? Voice your 'yay' or neigh your 'nay' in the comments below.

New Acura Nsx 2011 Information and Review

The rumors of the next Acura NSX were floating in the air ever since the highly admired original NSX bowed out with 2005 model-year, and the rumors became stronger with the appearance of Acura Sports Car Concept (ASCC) appearing in the 2007 Detroit Auto Show. This is what made the auto traders think about the next NSX, and to think that the Acura NSX 2011 will be based on the zoomy Acura Sports Car Concept.

The auto traders could very well be right, and the reason why we are so sure about the Acura NSX 2011 is because even the original NSX was quite an unexpected turnout in the model year 1990. Apart from this there are other reasons as well. Firstly, the ASCC (Advanced Sports Car Concept) primarily was developed to proclaim Acura’s latest design center in Pasadena, California. The parent company Honda wanted their premium brands to have a separate visual identity; this is what made them open two separate studios and talent demos the weird Advanced Sports Sedan Concept and the ASCC.

Please note, of course, these images are intended to be a quick comparison only and the measurements and scale may not be totally accurate.

Feb.8 (GMM) While stepped noses were still occupying some in the Formula 1 paddock, the sport’s purists were staring at the rear of the cars as the field of 2012 tested at Jerez on Tuesday.

With blown exhausts effectively banned this year, the new rules state that the outlets must now be visible from above.

But according to Auto Motor und Sport, the Ferrari and McLaren solutions are not necessarily visible from a bird’s eye view, causing some insiders to predict a new controversy about the legality of cars this season.

So at Jerez, the game began.

“We have had a lot of correspondence with the FIA,” said Ferrari designer Nikolas Tombazis. “We believe that what we are doing is legal.”

McLaren’s solution is also innovative, with the side ‘bump’ seen at the launch of the MP4-27 still on the car at Jerez.

One early analysis is that the team is using a rule loophole to cleverly redirect the exhaust air.

“There’s always a chance that somebody will come up with something that’s right on the border,” said Red Bull designer Adrian Newey.

Added Lotus’ James Allison: “So far we have a conservative solution,” he commented on the day Kimi Raikkonen went quickest in the 2012 car.

“We will watch the competition and also what the FIA says. Depending on how much they will allow, we will act accordingly.”

Some of the smaller teams are already expressing frustration.

“The FIA has said that the exhaust should no longer influence the aerodynamics. We support that and we will stick to that,” said Toro Rosso’s Giorgio Ascanelli.

Added Williams’ Mark Gillan: “The rules are actually pretty clear and we are trying to be on the right side of them.”

FerrarI: Some things work the way they should, others less so

Felipe Massa (BRA) Ferrari F2012. Formula One Testing, Day 2, Jerez, Spain, Wednesday 8 February 2012.

Felipe Massa

Feb.8 (Ferrari) Second day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit in southern Spain.

Following on from yesterday, it was again Felipe Massa who was at the wheel of the F2012, as he continued working on data acquisition relating to car behaviour. Felipe completed a total of 95 laps, the fastest in a time of 1.20.454.

“These two days have been different to usual, at least compared to what we’ve been used to at the start of previous years,” explained the Brazilian when he met with journalists. “This car is packed with elements that need plenty of fine tuning and they are different to what we had on previous cars. We concentrated on setting up a lot of specific points and there is still a lot to do: as usual, some things work the way they should, others less so.”

Testing at this track continues tomorrow, when Fernando Alonso will be at the wheel of the new car.
